Grade 7 Chemistry_Brochure Project on Global Warming Details

The guidelines for the project are as follows:

Topic:   Global Warming (Description (Physical & Chemical
Changes & Reactions), Causes & Effects of Global
Warming, & Solution to Global Warming)
Type:    Triad Project
Output/Product:     3-Fold Brochure

To accomplish the project, students should include following concepts in the 3-fold brochure :
a.   definition & description of Global Warming
b.   physical & chemical changes/ reactions involved in Global  Warming
c.   causes & effects of Global Warming
d.  solution to Global Warming (specific in your everyday life)

In making 3-fold brochure the following should be considered:

Three Components for Brochure

(1)    Purpose
When determining how to design an effective brochure, the first consideration is purpose. What goals should the brochure meet? When working with your desktop publishing client, be sure to inquire about specific expectations for the brochure. This will help you design a brochure that works. Consider the brochure target audience, how it will be delivered, if it will be mailed, what type of information will be imparted and what response the client hopes to elicit from the recipients.

(2)  Readability
Above all, making sure a brochure design is readable is paramount.  Regardless of the design elements included, the primary goal of the brochure format itself is imparting information. When writing text for a brochure, consider converting paragraphs to bulleted lists to make the information easier to absorb. In addition, be sure to adhere to standard writing and grammatical conventions so the brochure exudes professionalism.

(3)   Appeal
Finally, when designing a brochure, consider the appeal of the design. Design elements such as color choice, illustrations and photographs, and the arrangement of composition can greatly effect whether the brochure is appealing to the viewer and how much time he spends looking at the piece. Think about the specific target audience for the brochure desktop publishing project as well as the image the client is trying to portray

Sample Brochures:
·         http://www.youthedesigner.com/inspiration/18-beautiful-brochure-design-samples/ - 18 Beautiful Brochure Design Samples

Format:
·         Computerized, Readable Font  (Summarize info – bulleted)
·         A4 Size (colored or not)
·         Recyclable Materials (Do not buy.)
      ·         Use your own creativity.

Submission after 2 weeks.  Then, we will start the review Q1 - Q4 Lessons.
